Rapid City Epoxy Floors is a Black Hills based garage floor coating company built on one simple idea: a garage floor in South Dakota should last as long as the house. For decades, Rapid City homeowners have only had two options when their concrete started to fail — slap down a $400 big box epoxy kit that peels within a year, or call a generalist painter who treats epoxy like a side job. We exist because neither of those is good enough.
We are factory-trained, equipment-equipped, and exclusively focused on resin floor systems. That means diamond grinders instead of acid etching, 100% solids resin instead of water-thinned product, polyaspartic chemistry that handles South Dakota winters, and structural crack repair on every job. We do not paint houses, we do not stain decks, we do not do interior remodeling. We coat floors. That is the entire business.
Our service area covers the full Rapid City metro: Rapid City proper, Box Elder, Black Hawk, Piedmont, Summerset, Rapid Valley, and the surrounding Pennington County and Meade County communities. We coat garages, basements, shop floors, and commercial spaces. We work year-round, including January and February, thanks to our polyaspartic chemistry that cures down to -30°F.
Every job we do carries a written 10-year adhesion warranty (15-year on polyaspartic systems). Every quote is flat-priced, written, and delivered within 24 hours of an on-site visit. Active-duty military, reserve, retired, and dependents at Ellsworth AFB receive a 10% discount on all installs. We are fully insured for residential and commercial work including on-base contractor projects.

Our Story
We started Rapid City Epoxy Floors because the Black Hills market has unique floor coating needs that national chains and out-of-state installers do not understand. The combination of -20°F windchills, heavy calcium chloride de-icer use, freeze-thaw cycles from October through April, 95°F summer surface temperatures, and Rapid Creek floodplain hydrostatic pressure breaks resin systems that work fine in milder climates. Most chain installers use one-size-fits-all chemistry and a 3-day install window that does not flex for our weather. We built our process specifically around the conditions we install in.
We are committed to the long-term success of every floor we install in this community. That means a 10-year warranty that is actually honored, a 10% military discount for Ellsworth AFB families because they earned it, free written quotes within 24 hours so homeowners can compare us against anyone else apples-to-apples, and a refusal to compromise on prep work even when a customer asks us to.
